Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can get a refund for a paid Biotapy (Pro) subscription. It forms part of our Terms of Service. By purchasing a subscription you agree to this policy.

1. Our general policy

Biotapy subscriptions are billed in advance for a recurring period (monthly or yearly). Because access to Pro features is granted immediately, payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused time, or periods during which you did not use the Service. The exceptions below always apply, and nothing here limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law.

2. When we will refund

We will issue a refund in the following situations:

  • Service failure on our side. Your paid page or its Pro features were unavailable, unreachable, or materially broken for an extended period because of a fault on our side, and we could not resolve it within a reasonable time.
  • Loss of your content or page. Your page, links, or claimed URL were deleted, lost, or made inaccessible due to an error or failure on our side rather than your own action.
  • Duplicate or accidental charge. You were charged more than once for the same period, or charged after a cancellation that should have stopped billing.
  • Billing error. You were charged the wrong amount, or charged for a plan you did not select.
  • Unrecognised or unauthorised charge. A charge was made without your authorisation.
  • Statutory cooling-off period. Where the law in your country grants a right to cancel a recent purchase for a refund, that right applies regardless of the rules above.

3. When we usually will not refund

Outside the cases above, we generally do not refund. This includes:

  • You changed your mind or no longer need the Service.
  • You forgot to cancel before your renewal date.
  • You did not use, or did not fully use, the Pro features during your billing period.
  • A short, planned, or third-party outage (for example a hosting, network, or upstream provider issue) that does not materially deprive you of the Service over time.
  • Your account was suspended or terminated for a breach of our Terms of Service.

4. Cancellations and renewals

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not, on its own, refund the current period. After cancellation you keep access to Pro features until the end of the period you already paid for, after which the editor locks until you resubscribe. Your published page, links and content are preserved while your account is lapsed.

5. How to request a refund

To request a refund, contact us with the email on your account, the approximate charge date, and a short description of the problem. Write to [email protected]. Please reach out within 30 days of the charge where possible. We aim to review eligible requests within 5 business days.

6. How refunds are issued

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The time it takes to appear depends on your bank or card provider, typically 5 to 10 business days after we process it. Refunds may be issued in full or pro-rated depending on the situation.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and apply to purchases made after that date.
